FAQ
It’s good to have questions

Q: How does this work?!

Hi. It’s Olivia and I make everything here. Yep, me, all me.

I make one piece at a time and occasionally I take limited orders in a lil’ order window to ensure you’re not waiting more than a few weeks for your item(s).

Ready Made items are often finished to your measurements and can take one week to ship.

Q: Returns? What’s up

In a small act of defiance of patriarchal and capitalist edicts I am creating a business model that suits me as a creator and not the bottom line. I know, you still want to know about returns but that is an important part of it. Unless something is wrong in your order returns are not accepted. Each piece is custom made, often to your specific measurements so can not be returned unless there is something defective before shipping. Please email me within seven days of receipt if there is something unsatisfactory. Please read the returns fine print here.

Q: Where do you source your fabric?

Such a good question. All silk is vintage. I choose off-cuts and remnants that allow me to keep my prices waaaay lower than most silk garments (most of my dresses use at least four meters of fabric and some up to ten). Some pieces of silk have small imperfections or irregularities and because they are vintage they can be delicate. I do my absolute best to work around any imperfections but sometimes small ones may be hiding in a hem or a ruffle. These fabrics, just like ourselves, are perfect in their imperfections.

If this Will.Not.Work.For.You. let me know ASAP.

I’ll also scour thrift stores and garage sales to find treasures we can use. This is also a great way to ensure that each piece is a one-of-a-kind!
Sometimes I use deadstock fabric sourced from ethical brands.

Q: Why this model of commerce over store bought?

I would never tell you what to do (except I really disadvise bleaching your own hair platinum. Lesson learned) but I would love to see us all buy a little less.
Ever watch old timey movies and the character has a teeny suitcase that looks like it weighs five pounds and that’s all they’re taking with them for six months? We do buy more than we need these days. Because we can.
There is a literal shit tonne of brand new clothing that ends up in landfill or set on fire every year. Yup, unworn clothing sent to the dump. Millions of tonnes of it. Much of which is synthetic and won’t decompose in our lifetimes.
Supporting small biz, people making stuff by hand, people making stuff custom, reduces waste and lands dollars in the pockets of creatives and not corporations.
TL;DR Buy things you love from small makers to stop killing the planet and making old white dudes richer.
